About Pro-Max Pest Control

Pro-Max is the smarter approach to pest control, providing both residential and commercial pest management. We provide solutions for more than 47 common household pests, and we are committed to protecting customers with environmentally responsible methods.

Who we are

We service Chicagoland — especially Lincoln Park, the Gold Coast and the Loop area. Pro-Max is a single operator, not a franchise: the person you speak to on the phone is the fully qualified exterminator who turns up, does the work, and answers when you call back.

Almost all of the work comes by referral, which is a useful discipline. If the job is not right, you do not get referred. So we do the parts that are easy to skip: the full inspection, the identification, the follow-up visit, the honest conversation about the moisture problem or the gap under the door that is actually causing this.

Why organic and IPM

We offer organic pest control because most of the places we work are places where blanket chemical application is simply not appropriate — homes with small children and pets, schools, daycares, hospitals and restaurants.

Integrated Pest Management is the framework behind it. IPM is an effective, environmentally friendly approach to pest management that relies on a combination of common-sense practices beyond pesticides. In practice that means we inspect first, identify the species properly, find and remove what is attracting them, seal the ways in, and apply targeted treatment only where it is genuinely needed.

It takes longer than spraying a perimeter and driving away. It is also the reason our customers stop calling us about the same pest.

Moths, rugs and fine textiles

Moths are what we are best known for. We work directly with designers and with the rug wholesalers who supply them — the trade whose stock and whose clients' homes are full of exactly what clothes moths feed on: wool, silk, cashmere, fur and hand-knotted rugs. A hand-knotted rug cannot be treated the way a baseboard can, so we work around pile, dye and backing, and it is the reason we are the number one moth service across the neighbourhoods we cover.

No contracts, no annual plans, no auto-renewals. We come when you need us — that is the whole arrangement. Every visit is booked on its own, and pricing works the same way: Every job is priced before the work starts. You hear the number, you decide, and nothing begins until you say so.
