Pharaoh Ants treatment in Chicago

Pharaoh ants are very small — around 2mm — and pale yellow to light brown. They are one of the hardest ants to control in a building, and one of the easiest to make worse.

The critical thing about pharaoh ants is budding. Spray them with a repellent product and the colony splits, with satellite groups scattering into new voids across the building. A single colony can become a dozen. This is why over-the-counter sprays reliably turn a small pharaoh ant problem into a large one.

They nest in warm, humid, inaccessible voids — wall cavities, behind appliances, in insulation, around pipe runs. In apartment buildings, hospitals and restaurants they move freely through the whole structure.

The correct treatment is targeted baiting, placed where the ants actually forage, left alone long enough for the workers to carry it back to the queens. It takes patience and it works.
